Embrace

Embrace by Sarah Walker - I have started to explore a pared back figurative style of work. This piece came to mind fully formed, I sat down and sketched it completely in one sitting. It reminds me of holding my own child, but also the desire to be held in a safe, warm, and loving environment- stability. It was important to get the angle of the embrace correct, cocooned but not smothered, held but not trapped. Both how I want to love those around me and be loved.
