In the Autumn twilight, rich umber leaves rustle. The midnight moth lands, a sooty little smudge, on these velvetine leaves, and is cocooned in the foliage. A golden place to pass the enjoyable evening hours, the favourite pastime of the midnight moth.
You may look for the midnight moth in your imagination, or should I say mine! Not to be found in any field guide, unless my painting comes alive. Another to add to my collection of moth pieces, in nostalgic memory of visiting my uncle who was an Entomologist. I loved the specimen coffee table he had. Moths, insects, butterflies.... a delightful curiosity to my child like eyes!
