The suspension of time in the season of waiting

This piece was borne out of several things.
A season of waiting for the last several years of my life. Waiting on certain events and happenings to take place, that has required drawing down to the very depths of my patience, and testing of my strength of character, in a way I've not had before. There were some points in this season that it was only having a firm faith in God that kept me going, and kept me alive.
I found that in this sort of season, time takes on a surreal nature, and often the days seem completely repetitive, to the point of unreality, and utter nonsense. I depicted this with the unreal nature of the apples, they're almost plastic in quality, so red they're not real.
The apples are both grounded and suspended at the same time, either a combination of dreaming/hoping (suspension) and being stuck in reality of waiting (the grounded ones), or conversely the grounded ones are my faith, and the people who kept me grounded for sanity and love, and the suspended apples are my break in reality, and snapping of my mind. This piece generally has several meanings on different levels.
Overall the piece is a good piece though, and looks hopeful, not dark. That is because I have learnt to wait well now, during these seasons. The quality of waiting is almost as important as the things you're waiting to come.
This piece coalesced one evening in this form, after seeing another of my apples piece 'Self control and the parameters of change', sitting next to a piece my 4 yr old daughter had painted. Her piece was black and white, with blue and red circles. I had always loved her little canvas. Seeing my self control piece next to her little canvas, gave birth to the thoughts of this current piece, in this colour palette. Although I never have to have my arm twisted that much to paint in these blue shades!
